Mr. Keeling
Mr. Keeling is the Orchestra Director of Tumwater Middle School, Black Lake Elementary and Tumwater Hill Elementary. There are five different orchestras that he teaches every day: TMS Symphonia, TMS Philharmonia, TMS Camerata, and two 5th Grade Orchestras. This is his eighth year in Tumwater School District and he absolutely loves his job. One of his favorite things about teaching is seeing students progress from beginners to advanced musicians!
Mr. Keeling is a Central Washington University alumni with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Here's a cool fact: Mr. Keeling grew up in Tumwater and attended Black Lake Elementary and Tumwater Middle School before graduating from Black Hills High School! Teaching at the same schools he attended is pretty neat. He loves Tumwater and hopes to live here for a very long time! Along with teaching, Mr. Keeling is a very active musician. He performs with local music groups and symphonies, such as the Olympia Symphony Orchestra. They have fantastic concerts scheduled all throughout every year, including the annual free summer performance, Concert at the Capitol, held on the Capitol lawn in downtown Olympia.
In the world outside of music, Mr. Keeling is a HUGE Seattle Sounders fan. His favorite outdoor activities include: soccer, mountain biking, volleyball, hiking, skiing, and disc golf.
