| Education/Teaching Background: A graduate from St. Martin’s University, I have a degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Middle Level Humanities (English Language Arts and History), Secondary English, and am Nationally Board Certified in English Language Arts for Young Adults ages14-18+. I joined the Tumwater family from University Place School District. This is my 18th year teaching young adults and I love it!
Beyond my classroom, I have a wonderful family that includes five grown children, a terrific husband, five grandchildren, and a pug that enjoy spending time at our home on Summit Lake near west Olympia. Teaching is my passion and student’s life-long learning is my ultimate goal. I hope to inspire students every day to delve into rich literature, develop their ability to create good writing, and to explore their own power to contribute to the world! |
